Fair Return Pledge

Why this pledge exists

I didn’t get here alone. Some of you helped with money, time, or trust when there was nothing to show. This page sets a clear, testable promise for how I intend to repay that faith.

The pledge (plain language)

  1. At least inflation back. Your original support grows by UK CPI from the month you gave it to the month I repay.
  2. Fair target. Where possible, I aim to meet the Fair tier below.
  3. If we thrive, I share more. I will stretch toward the Generous tier and may add a time-limited profit-share bonus.
  4. Transparency beats vibes. I’ll publish the method, keep records, and invite an independent review if needed.

Formula used: Future Value = Principal × (1 + rate)^(years) (annual compounding).
Years are counted from the month funds were received to the month repaid.

  • Baseline protects purchasing power.
  • Fair reflects a cautious long-run balanced benchmark.
  • Generous reflects a growth proxy when the project prospers.

To scale for other amounts: multiply the Future Value by (your amount / £1,000).
Example: £500 at 5% for 18 years → £500 × 1.05^18 ≈ £1,203.

What counts as “support”?

  • Money given (donations, informal loans, micro-investments).
  • Documented in-kind help (paid-for services/materials) valued at cost at the time.
  • Proof can be a receipt, bank ref, email thread, or signed note.

How to claim (simple steps)

  1. Submit the form on /contact: name, date(s) of support, amount, and any proof.
  2. We verify dates and amounts together.
  3. We calculate your Baseline, Fair, and Generous figures and agree the target tier for repayment.
  4. We schedule payment(s)—single transfer or instalments—based on cashflow, with a written plan you can keep.

Notes & boundaries (so this stays clean)

  • This is a good-faith pledge, not a sale of securities. It’s a voluntary act of gratitude, documented in writing.
  • If funds are limited, repayments are pro-rata across claimants, then continue as revenue allows.
  • I reserve the right to prioritise cases of hardship first.
  • I will publish an anonymised ledger (totals only) so supporters can see overall progress.

Spirit of the pledge

Justice is love with a calculator. This page keeps both—the care and the numbers—together.
